19.10.24 House of Wonders

Artefacts are special items that can be purchased only with Bound Credits. Unless otherwise stated, artefacts can be purchased in Merentesh's series of shops in Delos. They will reset into your inventory frequently, which means they cannot be loaned out, or stolen(!), for very long. Some only work for the owner. They never decay. They cannot be changed to reset to anyone else's inventory, so do not buy artefacts of any kind if you intend to sell them.

Note About Stacking
-------------------
Artefact effects (for similar artefacts) don't combine or stack. If you have, say, a Collar of Ceylon and a Collar of Agatheis, then only one will boost damage of a magical nature. If you have a Logosian Ring and a Mayan Ring, then only one will increase the value of sipping a health elixir. In general, the best item rules, but there may be exceptions. So don't count on having two artefacts and somehow stacking their effects.


All items purchased in the House of Wonders with Mayan Crowns are resetting and non-decay. They also have no trade-in credit value and cannot be refunded.

The House of Wonders can be found among the rest of the artefact shops in Delos.

Gifting items from the House of Wonders

To purchase an item as a gift for another character, use this syntax: BUY <item> AS GIFT FOR <person> [MAIL]. If you include 'MAIL' at the end, it will be delivered via the postal service.


A miniature display arena:                                    3 Mayan Crowns
 - Place this display arena in your home and stash up to 25 of your battle figurines inside.

From time to time the appearance of this arena might shift to display a different notable location.

PLACE <arena>   - Owner only, in a location that you own

PUT <battle figurine> IN <arena>   - Owner only

TAKE <battle figurine> FROM <arena>   - Owner only

LOOK <arena>   - For everyone

LOOK <arena> <item id|item keyword|position> - For everyone

I.E:
  LOOK ARENA 12345 will show item #12345.
  LOOK ARENA IRONBEARD will show the Ironbeard figurine's description (if one is placed within.)
  LOOK ARENA 5 will show the 5th item.

GET <arena>   - Owner only, retrieve your display arena

Note: Battle figurines will not fight in this arena.

A sturdy display case:                                        2 Mayan Crowns
 - Place this display case in your home and put up to 25 of your treasures inside for all to admire.
PLACE <case>   - Owner only, in a location that you own.
PUT <item> IN <case>   - Owner only.
TAKE <item> FROM <case>   - Owner only.
LOOK <case>   - For everyone.
LOOK <case> <item id|item keyword|position>   - For everyone.
GET <case>   - Owners, retrieve your display case.

A banded chest:                                               3 Mayan Crowns
 - This chest holds up to 50 items, and is open/closeable by its owner only.
Putting/getting items from this chest can only be done when the item is in a housing room.
This item can only be dropped in housing rooms.
Once dropped PUSH CHEST to secure it in place.
This item can be unsecured with PULL CHEST, then take the chest and drop it elsewhere as desired.

A brass doorbell:                                             2 Mayan Crowns
 - Visitors can RING DOORBELL, announcing their presence to all on the property!
ATTACH DOORBELL on a plot you own (the room with the in exit).

An abode's emblem:                                            6 Mayan Crowns
 - Travel quickly to and from your subdivision plot with this emblem.
ATTUNE <emblem>   - When standing at a subdivision plot you own.
                  - This can be done once every 24 hours.
ACTIVATE <emblem> - When in the city whose subdivision contains your attuned
                    location, this will take you to the attuned plot.
                  - When at attuned plot, this will take you to the
                    subdivision's entrance.
                  - Requires full health and almost full mana.

A pirate's eyepatch:                                          2 Mayan Crowns
 - Giving this eyepatch to a shipmate will give them a more swashbuckling outlook on life.
Usable once per Achaean month.

A personal mailbox:                                           5 Mayan Crowns
 - PLACE MAILBOX at the entrance to your home (in or out of subdivision) and have your mail deposited here ready for your collection!
GET MAILBOX to retrieve your mailbox in case you want to move it.
Only the mailbox's owner can take letters from this box.

A featureless mannequin:                                      2 Mayan Crowns
 - Display the very best of your fashionable or functional work upon this featureless mannequin.
PUT <clothing/jewellery item> IN MANNEQUIN      - Owner only.
TAKE <clothing/jewellery item> FROM MANNEQUIN   - Owner only.

A plump, incandescent pillow:                                 5 Mayan Crowns
 - Dropping this luxurious pillow in your bedroom will expand its capacity, and allow a third person to occupy the bed.
Only one pillow may be in a bed at any time, and only the owner of the pillow and the bedroom has permission to drop it.

A plinth of Seleucarian marble:                               1 Mayan Crowns
 - This plinth displays 1 item in your home.
The item is placeable/takeable by the plinth's owner only.
This item can only be dropped in housing rooms.
Once dropped PUSH PLINTH to secure it in place.
This item can be unsecured with PULL PLINTH, then take the plinth and drop it elsewhere as desired.



An oak hitching post:                                         3 Mayan Crowns
 - Hitch your creatures to this hitching post and they will return to that location upon reset!
DROP POST places it in housing location. (Owner only)
PULL POST retrieves the post and returns all pets to their owner. (Owner only)
PUSH POST <petID/mountID> tethers a pet, mount, or minipet. (Owner only)
PULL POST <petID> to untether a pet and make it reset back into your inventory!


A wooden weapon rack:                                         2 Mayan Crowns
 - Place this weapon rack in your home and store your weaponry for display upon its hooks.
Maximum capacity is 25.
PLACE <rack>                - Owner only, in a location that you own.
PUT <weapon> IN <rack>      - Owner only.
TAKE <weapon> FROM <rack>   - Owner only.
LOOK <rack>                 - For everyone.
LOOK <rack> <item id|item keyword|position> - For everyone.
GET <rack>                  - Owners, retrieve your display rack.

A voluptuous clay effigy:                                     2 Mayan Crowns
 - Transforms your ship crew into entirely new creatures, and works on swashbucklers, shipmates, cooks, chefs, and cabin boys.
    Goblinoid - Members of the goblin race
    Voluptuous - Sultry seafaring wenches
    Handsome - Sun-kissed dreamboats
Drop on the deck of your ship to activate, and your crew will be transformed in the midnight hour. The effect will last until replaced with a different effigy or the crew dies.
These are consumed upon use.

A jar of ectoplasm:                                           5 Mayan Crowns
 - Dropping this jar inside a house will release a ghost!
DROP this jar in a house and a ghost will be released from within. This new house guest will haunt the property in a variety of different ways and even interact with a number of other items present in the home!

An Orb of Minor Confinement:                                  15 Mayan Crowns
 - This orb offers a number of security features for a home.
DROP this item in a house you own.
The owner of the orb and house can GET ORB# provided that it is deactivated.
ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE orb to block track and flight in and out of your whole property.
With this active you can still pierce the veil out of the home.
Airlord lightning will not be able to pierce the orb's protection.
Traverse, the Yuthka Legenddeck card, and falcons will not be able to pass through the barrier.

A small icebox:                                               4 Mayan Crowns
 - When placed in a home, this icebox halves the decay time of food or drink stored inside.

A gilded invitation:                                          10 Mayan Crowns
 - Extend an invitation to all mutual allies to visit your home!
Stand in your home and POST INVITATION to send an invitation to all mutual allies currently in the realms!
The invited have 30 seconds to ACCEPT INVITATION and must be in same area as property to accept.
If they accept they will be transported to your location!
This item cannot be used during a sanctioned raid.
This item will not function for allies that are enemied to the city if your home is in a city.
This item respects monolith sigils on the accepting party's end but not the sender.
This has a 5 minute cooldown.

An unassuming bucket of colourful rocks:                      2 Mayan Crowns
 - Turn this bucket of rocks into a pond to decorate your home!
With the bucket of rocks in your inventory, head to an outdoors room in your home that does not already have a pond and CONSTRUCT POND!
This pond cannot be fished from.

An elaborate gargoyle knocker:                                5 Mayan Crowns
 - Use this knocker to set a password for a door in your house.
DROP this gargoyle in a house that you own.
Owner of house/gargoyle can PUSH GARGOYLE <direction> <password> to set/change a password on a door direction.
When someone says the password in the room with the gargoyle the door will open.
THIS WILL SUPERCEDE ANY PERMISSIONS SET.
<direction> should be a full word: northeast, west, down, out.
<password> can only be one word.
A gargoyle can only handle one door and password.
There must be a door in the direction.

A wishing well:                                               1 Mayan Crowns
 - Place this well in your home and drop a coin in. Maybe your wish will come true!

A grandiose pipe organ:                                       2 Mayan Crowns
 - Decorate your home with this functional pipe organ.
DROP this instrument in your home.
Only the owner can GET it again.
PUSH <organ> to play one of four different songs!

A diamond horseshoe:                                          30 Mayan Crowns
 - Ward against intruders with this security-enhancing horseshoe.
Drop this item in your house and when TOUCHED all existing rooms will have full security upgrades applied to them.

This includes:
- eye sigil
- no prism
- monolith sigil
- key sigil

TOUCH the horseshoe at any time to reapply the effects to the entire house (should you be building.)

A weathered clapboard doghouse:                               2 Mayan Crowns
 - This doghouse is the perfect home for a canine companion.
DROP this doghouse in your home to place it.
TOUCH <house> FOR <PetID#> to put a dog minipet inside. This will make the minipet reset to the container and unlocks a variety of ambient messages.
GET <PetID#> FROM <house> to retrieve your minipet.
GET <house> to retrieve the doghouse, but only if it's empty!
These can only hold one minipet at a time.

An oak-framed glass terrarium:                                2 Mayan Crowns
 - This terrarium is ideal for lizards, frogs, and toads.
DROP this terrarium in your home to place it.
TOUCH <terrarium> FOR <PetID#> to put a lizard, frog, or toad minipet inside. This will make the minipet reset to the container and unlocks a variety of ambient messages.
GET <PetID#> FROM <terrarium> to retrieve your minipet.
GET <terrarium> to retrieve the terrarium, but only if it's empty!
These can only hold one minipet at a time.

A plush cat's tower:                                          2 Mayan Crowns
 - Keep your feline companion entertained with this cat's tower.
DROP this tower in your home to place it.
TOUCH <tower> FOR <PetID#> to put a cat minipet inside. This will make the minipet reset to the container and unlocks a variety of ambient messages.
GET <PetID#> FROM <tower> to retrieve your minipet.
GET <tower> to retrieve the tower, but only if it's empty!
These can only hold one minipet at a time.

A rabbit hutch:                                               2 Mayan Crowns
 - This hutch will make your rabbit companion feel right at home in your home.
DROP this hutch in your home to place it.
TOUCH <hutch> FOR <PetID#> to put a rabbit minipet inside. This will make the minipet reset to the container and unlocks a variety of ambient messages.
GET <PetID#> FROM <hutch> to retrieve your minipet.
GET <hutch> to retrieve the hutch, but only if it's empty!
These can only hold one minipet at a time.

A bird perch:                                                 2 Mayan Crowns
 - A perfect perch for the discerning avian.
DROP this perch in your home to place it.
TOUCH <perch> FOR <PetID#> to put a bird minipet on it. This will make the minipet reset to the container and unlocks a variety of ambient messages. 
The dropped description will also show the pet that is perched!
GET <PetID#> FROM <perch> to retrieve your minipet.
GET <perch> to retrieve the perch, but only if it's empty!
These can only hold one minipet at a time.
