In a Triumvirate, three leaders (triumvirs) hold office until contested and
defeated in an election, with limits that may vary from House to House:
1) the triumvirs may be restricted to a single consecutive term (or not), and
2) the triumvirs may serve a term of fixed length (or indefinite).

Limits on Return to Office
--------------------------
Once a triumvirate leaves office, he may not contest for, nor hold the
position again until at least six other people, not himself, hold it.

Special Powers of the Ascendant
-------------------------------
One triumvir, known generically as the Ascendant, has enhanced powers:
- appointments to House Positions
- selecting the Divine Patron

The three triumvirs select one of their number to wield these additional powers
via showing SUPPORT (see HELP SUPPORT). If two or three support one triumvir,
then that triumvir becomes Ascendant. If only one supports any given triumvir,
then that triumvir is not Ascendant. If a triumvir is Ascendant and then
doesn't have support of at least two triumvirs, then that triumvir is no longer
Ascendant.

Each house selects the title for this most powerful triumvir.

Council members (not Ascendant) earn 200 renown per hour while logged in, up
to 400 renown per day or until they hit cap (see HELP RENOWN).
