Shrines

Monuments to the gods. You spout out the same lies that have been spouted
by Gawain since the time of Servelan. Everyone knows the truth of
shrines. They are no more a need for worship then a sword is. If
a shrine is a monument to the gods and for worshipping purpose why then
are they not kept in the major areas of worship? Instead these weapons
sprout up in and around strategic locations frequented by the populace
of Achaea. Example just south of North of Thera lies a shrine. Thera
tends to be a gathering point of people, this shrine influence them
people. Allowing bloodthirsty paladins to appear there almost instantly
along with the ability to unleash hellish demons that sap our health
and mana. Truly a benevolent monument to the glory of the gods would
not strike out at mortals, but would rather be a building to be admired
There are plenty of such features in the land, the Statue of Zarathustra
comes to mind. But I have yet seen that statue which is in honour
of a great hero lash out viciously and malicously at people who
have upsetted the people of Ashtan. Why you might ask? Perhaps
because it was a statue built with love and honour for the hero and
not built to be used as a weapon under the deception that it is for the
gods. On another note you claim these shrines to be in honour of
all gods. Yet they continously strike out at followers of Twilight
Eris, Sartan, Phaestus, Gaia etc. It almost seems as if the only ones
immune to these evil instruments of destructions are the followers of
Aurora. So now it brings to question is the shrine in honour of the
goddess of light, or just a weapon of the followers of light. I think
everyone knows the answer to that.
