For Strife and the Uneducated

In the course of my recent study of Achaea's many helpful tomes, I discovered a few "nuggets" of information which deal directly with the Church's purpose and how it has changed over time. Certain Achaeans have spoken of the Church's purpose of late, notably Echo, Treant, and Laergon. The beliefs these people hold are incorrect with the nature of the church.
Directly from the Tome of Church History (HELP CHURCH), I share these pieces of information:

1) "The Church was founded before written history by Imithia, great-great-great-granddaughter of the Offspring Pasiphae. Last of the sons and daughters of Sinope and Callisto, Pasiphae had lived many hundreds of years and was beloved by many of the gentler humans. To commemorate her life and mourn her passing, Imithia held a ceremony in some forgotten place called the Rite of Passing. If such a complex organization as the Church has a beginning, this could be said to be it. It should be pointed out, however, that the Church of Imithia consisted of nothing more than some devout friends gathering to give thanks to the Gods for a soul as pure and beautiful as Pasiphae."

Analysis: Yes, the Church was founded as a device to relate the mortals of Achaea to the gods, presumably all of them.

2) "In time, the Church grew to represent the forces of Goodness, LIght, and Order and fought to push back what they viewed as the ever-growing chaos and evil in an increasingly complicated and modern world."
AND:
"The Church also vowed to support the Divine Orders of the Gods that would favour them and who represent the forces of order rather than chaos."

Analysis: Over time, the Church shifted in purpose from honoring all the gods to fighting the forces of Chaos. It is perfectly legitimate for the Church to not support Sartan, Eris, or Twilight, for those Gods and Goddess, as well as their followers, represent the antithesis of everything the modern church stand for.

I hope this resolves all arguments regarding what the Church stands for and who it represents. I shall now retire back to my study.
