Lo-da'i,
I regret to inform you that while this might be news to some, it is not news to a
For those who have spent even a short few decades in the presence of our Wildwood Queen, it is known that the sentiments Adrik speaks of is nothing new.
Nature is as brutal as She is tender, and there is a place in the present for all who work toward the inevitable reclamation of these lands.
There will always be those who harmonise and commune deeply with Her wilds, those who whisper and tend to the plants and trees, those who stay alert to any changes, diligently dousing forest forests, repairing all they can so the expanse of Nature is able to exist and thrive alongside us folk who stomp around in the homes of the flora and fauna, day in, day out. This is one way to live in harmony with Her realm. There is, of course, also a place for those who desperately wish to see Nature's will finally enacted, and the slow eradication of mortal kind fits neatly into that.
Our High Warden's view may be one of the more extreme, and it may not be palatable for all. It's clearly difficult for folks who have not been blessed with Her gaze or verdant touch - sorry Yinaf, please keep reading, to understand.
The ultimate end will see all reclaimed, and yes, eventually I'm sure the vines will creep into Eleusis and smother out our last scraps of civilised life - they will force out our bankers, fill our shops with vine-wrought tendrils. There will be no place for mortals to stand and loiter, for we will lay down one final time as a feast for the worms and bugs.
Eleusis has changed vastly from the days of old, the tales I am told of stagnation and apathy. Eleusis has taken strides, but there is still a long way to go. That Adrik speaks openly of where it all likely will end is a boon to Eleusis, and just like anything in this life, balance is required. Eleusis wouldn't function if we all echoed the High Warden in word and actions, as it wouldn't function if Speaker Treyal was simply replicated, or me, or any of our leaders or Freefolk.
All I'm trying to say is that this is nothing new. As an Eleusian, and as a Gaian, I know that it might not be palatable, but as She has repeatedly interfered: Anything worth doing or believing in, will almost certainly make you uncomfortable.
