Lessons to Remember

Silas, you and the Recusants you harbour in your Thraasi manse are not "true servants of Good." You all serve only yourselves. You openly and basely defame Them and Their expertise. You masquerade as Good, not unlike the lost city of Shallam might have done, before we knew better. But now we do, thanks only to Their grace.

You seem to have forgotten the key lesson of Shallam. The lesson therein was about how risky it is to take for granted that which we are given and charged with protecting - Creation - and how critical it is to be unapologetic in our duty of care. The lesson of Shallam was that we can't be middling. That we don't need to explain ourselves or to compromise with faithlessness, be it in the form of a roving band of tent-turned-mansion dwellers, another city-state, or heretical Divine. That Creation is too precious to saddle ourselves with the burden of placating people, like yourself, who arrogantly claim to know better than Those to Whom we owe it all.

To the Recusant - Many of you had opportunity to lead and grow within Their walls. Finding your failures at doing so inconvenient to stomach, you left your charge and abandoned Them. Some of you took up personal vendettas against me, and dedicated a foolish amount of time trying to bring me down. You've failed at that, too. Creation doesn't need warriors of that ilk.

Let me make one thing very clear to you: you are not innocent beings fighting the Good fight and deserving of my protection, or Theirs, or Targossas'. You have made active choices to get to where you are, and you've no one else to blame that it is inconvenient to you now.

I pray for your eventual redemption. In the meantime, though, you will not be allowed to besmirch Their city or organise against Their names with impunity. And no, you are not welcome in the city whose Patrons you so soundly abandoned.

Light Guide,
Dawnlord Lyndee Faelithar

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Sarapin, in the year 845 AF.
