With a sudden surplus of funds from the use of the Matsuhama Arena,
Swordsmaster Colbey announced that Delos had finally finished repairs on
the Eastern Delos bridge, which was prone to flood damage from the
Zaphar river. The repaired bridge lead down a short road to the coast,
where a mermaid swimming in the surf mentioned the existence of her
homeland far below the waves. Many brave, and foolhardy, adventurers
attempted to swim below the waters, only to drown until Navi managed to
find out from the mermaid that if you eat a prickly pear while
underwater, your skin produces tiny air bubbles which allow you to
breathe and also protects one from the ill effects of immersion in the
depths of sea water for a short time. After the discovery, many people
ventured below the waves, and explored the wondrous sites of the
underwater city of Riparium.
