Insidious, likely destructive enchantment discovered on PACKS

We have bad news, and good news. First the good news!
- We believe we have stopped this before anyone was horribly
disfigured or otherwise ruined by the awful thing!
Now the bad news:
- We have discovered that, on certain packs in the realms, an awful
enchantment of some kind was present. Tipped off by helpful denizens
of Achaea, we found that about five score canvas backpacks had been
cruelly modified, obviously with evil intent. These packs, unlike the
tens of thousands of normal, everyday packs found throughout Sapience,
had been enchanted to NEVER DECAY!
The horror! The perfidy! The risk to their owners!
No doubt the innocent possessors of these plain old canvas backpacks
would have been horrified to learn that their packs were enchanted by
this deeply twisted and evil spell.
To spare these upstanding members of society even the slightest risk of
harm or loss, we have neutralised the evil dweomers via mighty magics of
our own.
In some advanced cases, the evil enchantment had spread to the point
of rotting the joints and hems of the packs, so that in their tattered
state, they could hold more than the usual fifty items.
We are all very lucky that this was found in time. Many will never know
how close they came to horrors unimaginable, assuming the enchantment
might have been allowed to continue unchecked.
No no, do not thank us. It is our duty. We do it gladly.
Penned by my hand on the 7th of Chronos, in the year 396 AF.
