9.70 Artificing
Though a Magi may be best known as a paragon of sorcery, calling down lightning to smite their foes and altering the battlefield with but a motion of the hand, few give consideration to the endless hours of toil which underpin such prowess. Perhaps more than any other skill, Artificing embodies this fact. Within the Workshops of Artifice do the Magi strive, creating great foci through which to channel their arcane might. The Artificer shall labour long over their Elemental Staff, and it shall be both basis and pinnacle of their achievement. Yet for all this, perhaps the most dangerous magic the Magi practice lies within the heart of the Artificer's art, for it is neither staff nor crystal which they turn their hand to crafting in the solitude of higher study, but a thing far less tangible: the treaties with the Elemental Planes themselves. These ritual compacts will permit the summoning of forces beyond the lesser elementals of Magi's past, and herald in a new age of arcane exploration.
