Thievery

Achaeans, hear me now if you ever do.

A problem subsists in the seedy underworld of our land that seems at first glance so pleasant. Its perpetrators strive to destroy dreams under the pitiful excuse of "making money." In truth, they are dirt. They are thieves.

I have never been aware of theft as a real problem. But last night on the broad Parade of the Founders in Hashan, an elderly individual of whom I had not heard walked up to me, issued me mind commands to hand over my fullplate and pack (worth around 80k), and flew off on Eagle's Wings before I even knew what had happened. Her name was Silvaria.
I beseech you, friends and those who might consider me an enemy alike--do everything you can to prevent this from happening to you. I myself have begun researching methods to keep my items in my inventory even after a mental suggestion or force. When your hopes for a profitable shop are dashed against the rocks of despair and a market externality's greed, you will know how I feel.

I do not know the identity of every thief in Achaea. I do not accuse them of breaking any rules; they have the power to steal, and no god has stopped them. But I urge you to avoid even speaking to Silvaria. She even implied that she had stolen from members of her own guild, the Ashura. I suppose she was attempting to support her theory that she is the best thief in Achaea. All I know is, preying upon a naturally trusting peaceful shopkeeper proves that she is only the most deplorable among a group of the deplored.

I thank you for hearing me out, and I shall pray to all the gods that your possessions stay safely in your hands.
