Hello everyone
It gives me great pleasure to announce that the artisans have finished
the Altar of Peace in Shallam. It is located just north of the Khafre
Fountain near Averroes' house. I hope you will visit and enjoy it. The
Altar in Hashan will be built soon, but with their recent expansion, a
site must still be selected.
It gives me great pains to announce that Ashtan, since the retirement
of Nimos, has decided to revoke the permission they gave for their Altar.
Prior to beginning any plans for this, I gained the permission of all of
the city leaders. Once that was given, I began speaking to the artisans
to work out the design and then spoke with the city leaders about proper
locations. I even walked around Ashtan with Nimos to choose a site which
was agreeable to us both.
This past week, I was contacted by the Archons stating that they were
reconsidering the permission given by Nimos even though I sent a copy of
his written message to me granting permission. I have spoken with some of
the Archons and exchanged messages and letters with other and they seemed
to imply that the Altar would probably still be approved as long as the
location was approved, something that was in the original agreement and
therefore not a problem on my end.
The Archons repeatedly brought up the fact that Nimos was no longer
Overseer of Ashtan.. something I could not see the relevence of as he WAS
the overseer at the time the permission was given and has only recently
retired. It seems that their government may not always keep promises made
by those no longer in power.. Something that might be remembered when
making agreements with them in future.
I did not understand their reluctance to such a simple matter and finally
I received a very clear response from Gijan. He informed me that the
permission for the Altar had nothing whatsoever to do with Nimos, but that
Ashtan did not want a piece of Oneiros' temple within their city walls.
I could not believe my ears at this blasphemy and pointed out to him what
an EXTREME insult that was to a god... his response was, "Yes, it is."
This recent chain of events has so disheartened me I feel I must go off
to meditate and clense myself of this anger I feel at this insult to my
beloved patron. I have dedicated my life to him and his ideals and I cannot
do that with anger in my heart. I will return in a week's time and during
my absence, I wish you all well and that your feet may feel the joy
of Oneiros' path....
