honour and the lack thereof

I know neither Pierce nor Sinistar very well personally, but as does Maran, I abhor everything Sartan stands for. I also respect Sartan, for though he is the Lord of Evil, I have seen nothing but honour in his evil actions. That does not take away from the evil, but a weaker being could, for example, urge mortals to slander the other gods while I have seen Sartan slay mortals for just this.
I do not see any lack of honour on Pierce's part for what he did. Quite the contrary, it was honourable for him to meet and speak with Sinistar rather than slaying him outright for merely making it known that among the chief goals of the Infernals is the desire to smash the Paladin guild.
Is it dishonourable to challenge someone when you know they are honour bound to accept? If that someone has not promised to destroy you, perhaps. In this case, I think not.

A certain few I have fought with in the past may question my speaking of the issue of honour. To those, I almost do not bother to reply for those who know me have never questioned my honour or even my chivalry. Someone quite special to me even made a post on it, to which I still blush in memory.
However, I have never once teamed against anyone in Achaea (listen closely here) who did not initiate an aggressive act without just provocation. If a thief robs the bank in Shallam, do not the city guards (as in more than one) seek him out? If a murderer slays your wife and children while you are away, would you not band together to bring the filth to justice if it were necessary to do so? How honourable is it to attack someone without warning, while they are weak from fighting goblins, or hunting, or working in a smithy or the fields? There is honour in this because it is one on one?
I am proud to belong to a guild that looks after its own. If they are hunted, I am hunted. If I am attacked, they are attacked. If you feel differently, perhaps it is because your evil has consumed you to the point where you have no room for things such as "brotherhood" or "friendship" or dare I say. . ."true honour"?

Also, all hail Gaia!
