Hello Everyone,
I agree with Liberater on a lot of points. This situation really has gotten out of hand. Hashan was created with one goal in mind, to create a prosperous city and haven for people who desire freedom and wish to savor their individuality. We are probably the least belligerent of the three cities. We started out taking no forest at all, talked about an alliance with the Druid GM, we got the go ahead, and so we went ahead, thinking all was well. Might I not that I certain councilmember of Oakstone was present at that treaty.
We were all very surprised at the reaction we got from the Druids and others, since we thought it was all worked out. As soon as the Druids asked for us to depart the Western Ithmia, we did just that, in an attempt to keep peace. We even made a treaty with Ashtan, who has never been a strong ally of mine, to take a long lengthy course to totally avoid the Western Ithmia. We have made every compromise we could in the interest of peace, and yet we are still persecuted.
The fact is, we cannot withdraw from the Northern Ithmia, Hashan has been there for Sarapis knows how long, and without that territory, we would not be able to even afford meager defences. As Liberater said, if Shallam is eager for us to do so, perhaps they would be willing to relinquish some of their territory, then we would move out no problem. But we require the income to simply survive.
In regards to Twilight being the city patron of Hashan. The Serpentlords have always made Hashan their home. We chose Twilight as city patron because he has always been a stalwart supporter of me and my guild, and is doing wonders for our city. He allows MUCH freedom to his followers, and makes a strong effort nowadays to leave the mortal situations to the mortals. I am a rather high ranking member of his order, but I don't think it would be false to say that I am more trustworthy and honest than a lot of the Shallam citizenship. Do not judge a city by its cover, judge it by its content, it's citizens.
So, in conclusion, we need the Northern Ithmia to survive, if it is wished that we depart, then perhaps the Druids might be able to convince Shallam to give up one small area of around the same size and we would glady do so. We are not in this to hurt anyone, and are only looking to thrive as a city and peacefully coexist. Feel free to ask me, or any of the other members of Hashan if you have any other questions, or even if you simply need our assistance, we would be glad to help.
Thank you all.
