sacrificial preparation

My friend, it is noble of you to show such concern for those animals who have been chosen for the holy purpose of sacrifice. I hope to bring you relief in pointing out that sacrificial preparation is quite different and distinct from the art of mastery. In sacrificial preparation, we speak to the animal and ask it to choose whether it wants to serve a most holy purpose or not. The selected animals choose to follow us of their own free will, because we appeal to the holy spirit that resides in every living creation of the Logos, and not to the animal spirit that separates those that are sentient from those that are not.
Sacrifice is not animal abuse, since the animals themselves choose the honor of being a holy sacrifice to the gods we all worship. As non-sentients, they have been reserved as bearers of pure, natural holiness undisturbed by the loss of innocence which comes with intelligence. They hold no other purpose for life, survival, and reproduction than to wait for the day that they are chosen to die painlessly in holy sacrifice to the gods. Certainly, those who fail to survive that long usually die painfully by the hand of intelligent sentients such as yourself who have chosen them to gain at their expense. Not that this is wrong, depending on your beliefs, but considering these options, what would you now call abuse?
Sincerely,
Echo
