Starting with Death

Know, Sapience, that a twin to Life, the shunned path of Death, is now unobstructed, if ever so slightly. It is up to us now to choose between grasping its possibilities and letting it be veiled once more.

I return to you from the Tower of Falaq'tor, bringing with me a revelation that what comes to the adventurers who copied the Grimoire of Souls is not some malign spirit or divine retribution but a natural consequence set by the laws of a realm yet persisting without its Lord. These laws can be explored further.

Copying the text of the Grimoire is a ritual of the enigmatic tradition of Death, marking the scribe for what can only be the first step of a road yet unwalked. The lethal whispers heard by those who begin this path are as seeds of knowledge yet unrevealed, mysteries taking their toll on their aspirants. With time and with devout dedication bordering abandon, these secrets can be unveiled and used to our own ends, as has happened before with many other powers.

In other words, mortals can begin to practice Death by personally copying the text of the Grimoire, and maybe by distributing it further. With that, they become living beacons for forces which are not yet well-understood. The way to go forward from there is to be discovered, but nothing is impossible.

Walk the path if you do not fear, put your quills and minds to use, and keep your eyes open. Death beckons.
