You fear what you do not understand, it's only natural and mortal.
However, what you fear most is change of any kind, and Chaos is truly
change incarnate. In fact, as Penwize noted, it is the only force that
allows Creation as Ayar incepted it to change.

I am disappointed but unsurprised you have chosen to side with
stagnation. After all, I left the city entirely because of that reason.
Maybe someday you will have the spine to stand for one of your own
beliefs without simply rushing to the Dawnlord's aide as a pretext for
upholding the Pillars of Silver and Steel. Gods forbid you do so on your
own volition, as the most populous city, without the aide of another.
