Aggressive Negotiations

On behalf of the Great Oak Council of Eleusis:
To the Senate of Cyrene,
The gift of opportunity offered to you by High Warden Adrik on behalf of Lady Gaia was, whether realized or not, the platitude that you asked for. While I understand that you will represent to your lessers that you attended this meeting with our Village leadership in good faith, it became woefully obvious that your only plan was to offer us nothing in exchange for what you deemed to be an unreasonable ultimatum.
While I am sure that you were shocked and offended at Eleusis's rejection of your offer for 'cultural exchange' as an alternative to our stated goal, it should not have come as a surprise. It is understandable that such a frivoulous and wasteful city would want for Eleusis to parade ourselves in front of you for your enjoyment and benefit. However, Eleusis has little desire to dilute our culture with yours.
Due to your lack of willingness to engage us in good faith, any such protection offered to you by the High Warden during this time of negotiation has since been rescinded. The Forest of Light that lie beneath the cobbled streets of your city will be reclaimed by force if need be. However, after your city's flailing display of the yestermonth, it is only a matter of time before it is a once again thriving ecosystem, deviod of your ignorance and greed.
While I am sure such violence offends your sensibilities, this will be the second time that Cyrene has rejected the olive branch within intent to right the ages-long genocide of Her forest without inviting such conflict. The City of Cyrene prides itself on being a bastion of defence against aggressors, however how does Cyrene square this by being complicit in the continued capture of so many of Nature's spirits tethered to the lands beneath? No amount of half-hearted ritual or sharing of ideas will right this series of transgressions.
When your citizens ask you why the savages of Eleusis are sacking your idols of iron and stone, be sure to reiterate to them unreasonable we were by demanding your cooperation to begin with. Your weak-wristed diplomatics will not sate our need to see Her forest restored to it's rightful grandeur.
