In truth I do not know whom to direct this post towards, whether the perpetrators, or those who will be struck to the core by it. Hence, everyone.
As many of you no doubt know, Cyrene has, as part of our core tenet of Respect, a towering Pantheon, paying homage to all the Divine, even those that might be thought enemies of the Last City. Sartan, Twilight, even Tlalaiad, the Genesis, all have their depictions there, side by side. This is important context for a snippet of our city's log that struck me, on my arrival in the realms this month:
The forces of Hashan have destroyed The ruins of Statue of Artemis, Goddess of the Cataclysm.
Note that this was not the destruction of the Statue. It was the destruction of the ruins of the statue. Hashan deliberately set two different tanks to detonate such that a doubled destruction would be wrought on the depiction of She whom the very world itself is still in mourning for.
I could say many things about this act, but I will let it stand for itself. I know many of you reading this will be able to readily draw your own conclusions about what this says of Hashan's leadership and military.
In Silver and Steel, Jaksim Nomathi.
Penned by my hand on the 11th of Daedalan, in the year 845 AF.
