Hail, Sapience.

Welcome to the fourth month of the Asterian Festival of History.

Consult Public post #20714 for instructions on how to participate. Those who complete at least six months' worth of tasks and/or events will earn a truly unique historical memento; the more months you complete, the more intricate your reward.

Note: You are only required to complete either ONE task or attend ONE event per month to qualify, and you must note this in your journal. You can complete the tasks of previous months that you have missed as well - simply refer to the correct post.

Theme
------
The month of Miraman is named after Lady Miramar, the Goddess of Justice. Judgement upon the words and actions of others has often resulted in punishments and sentences whose effects ripple through our history. The sentencing of Slith resulted in a new King of the Underworld and a new Curator of Death. The Judgement of Zafikel led to the discovery of Psionic abilities. Unsurprisingly, the theme of this month is: judgement.

Monthly Journal Task
---------------------
While judgement is meant to be as impartial as possible, this can often be coloured by personal bias, a lack of evidence or information, and external influences. Can justice really truly be blind? Is a criminal always a criminal, or does that depend on who one asks?

[Task]
Look at the mock posters of wanted criminals lining the street south of the Nimick town centre, all the way to the Sheriff's residence. Imagine they were placed by the people that they have wronged.

From the clues provided on the posters, identify two (2) criminals and discover what their eventual punishment was according to history.

Note the names and sentences in your journal, along with your opinion on whether the sentences were justified or not. Provide a reasoning why, or if not, what sentence you would have imposed - and why.

Events
-------
Bidding for artifacts in the Art and Artifacts auction continues. See AD 482 for the full details.

The landmark event this month is a mock trial of Davis Kephry, a prominent figure of the Sapient League in the era of the Seleucarian Empire. Participants will play the role of Seleucarians after the Sapient League's invasion of Imperial Seleucar, about to pass judgment on Davis Kephry - for better or worse. To prepare, read Volume III of the History of the Seleucarian Empire.

The Targossas Festival showcase also happens this month, with illusory displays about the hardship of life as a Shallamese refugee at the monastery on the Isle of New Hope.

Refer to AD 192 for dates and check UPCOMING as well.

Exhibitions
------------
The Grand Obsidian Tower in the south of Nimick, an extensive adventurer-run museum with hundreds of relics, remains open for public visits.

The featured item in the austere gallery at the Asterian Athenaeum is a crystalline cube, which displays images of the various stages of Slith's trial by the Garden when TOUCHed. One of these cubes is up for auction in AD 482 - this is your chance to see how it functions.

The travelling merchant continues to wander the Asterian Restoration grounds. You can travel there easily by TOUCHing the PORTAL at the town centre of New Thera. Ensure you are in perfect health.

Any questions may be directed to myself.
