Cyrenian-Mhaldorian Symposium

Sapience,

The spirit may indeed be made stronger by enduring hardships. A recent example in grand history is the occupation of Cyrene, and the path of growth their hardship has put them on.

The occupiers, the tsol'teth, have demonstrated great physical and, arguably, mental strength. But rather than embrace their potential greatness and submit themselves to the Lord Malevolent, they chose stagnation and arrogance in raising their own Divine. The tsol'teth lack vision and spiritual fortitude, as do the cities that fecklessly abandoned their own ideals as soon as the tsol'teth gave them a chance to do so.

Mhaldor and Cyrene have little in common, but the tumultuous episode of Cyrenian history culminating in the reconquest of their own home brings our perspectives closer. To Mhaldor, Cyrene's eventual victory presents practical proof and an example of how enduring hardships makes one stronger. Whether Cyrene shares this view or not, we share in the tsol'teth an enemy. When the subterreanen invaders come again, we will not get in each other's way, but separately work to bring about the invaders' demise.

To take advantage of our potentially shared insight, the cultural ministries of Mhaldor and Cyrene will organise a Symposium to explore our understanding of hardship and resolve. By delving into the events using the tools of the artist and the historian, our perspectives will be contrasted and compared, lessons exchanged, and creative ingenuity challenged.

As the historians of Seleucar prepared future generations for the next Black Wave, this Symposium will see us learn from shared experiences to stand ready against future threats. Armed with relentless determination, tempered in the crucible of hardship, we will see the tsol'teth defeated.
