Many of you do not know me. Had circumstances been different, you may never have known me. I come from Zanzibaar - not the palace or the merchant district but the slums. My family was impoverished, and for many years, my abusive mother took out her woes on me.

I was fortunate enough to escape this life, and in doing so, I found purpose. The world is filled with the downtrodden. Those with power promise much, but more often than not, what they truly seek is control. Whether they seek to restrict your actions, control your thoughts, or frighten you into silence, they wield their power to your detriment.

A position in the Conclave is one of great knowledge and power, and in the wrong hands, could be used as a weapon of oppression and zealotry. Or worse, a weapon of Chaos. Indeed, the Conclave numbers such achievements as raising Gods Themselves among its many lofty accomplishments, (see public post 20670), and its members remain the first port of call for adventurers when disasters ravage these lands.

Many mistakenly believe the Conclave to be an organisation focused on opposing the Tsol'teth. This is false. The Conclave is a neutral body of esteemed magic users, and most seem to have forgotten that Yudhishthira's creation of the Underrealm barrier was done to settle a debt owed to Targossas and Eleusis - a debt incurred, incidentally, from their championing of him during the last Reckoning.

This being the case, it is paramount that such a position be held by a capable individual intent on informing and championing the cause of all, rather than weaponising the Conclave or manipulating it for their own ends.

I am in the unique position of having a history of magical talent, a strong ability to work with others, and a dedication to standing against oppressive regimes. Those of you who value your independence - your freedom of thought, of speech, and of action - can be assured that my presence in the Conclave will only benefit you.

I believe strongly that these values cross city boundaries. I would remind everyone that none of you are required to vote as your superiors demand of you. If you believe in these values as I do, take this opportunity to exercise your freedom of thought and vote for me in the Conclave referendum (REFERENDUM 435508 VOTE FOR TELAAN).
