Faladis' Book

While I do admire Faladis' initiative, and your attempts to protect him
from criticism, clearly neither one of you know very much about
book-writing, nor the nature of Sapience as a whole.

When one authors a book, it is assumed that one has not only impressive
writing style that will captivate the author, but also the skills to
author in a way that the reader can understand. If a book is filled with
gramatical errors, it becomes a painful experience when someone attempts
to read it. It was my wish for Faladis that he had a good editor who
could save his readers' eyesight and sanity.

Secondly, if you post something publically, why do you expect a response
in any other manner? Faladis advertised his book to the public, on these
boards, and if he didn't know the potential "consequences" of that, he
does now. Sapience is not filled with fluffy, ego-stroking people,
regardless of what Shallam is filled with (I have my own views on that
but that's for another time). People are ruthless and brutally honest,
and most people just love a chance to poke fun at someone,
good-intentioned or otherwise.

When you write a book, dear Elora, you not only put your heart and soul
into the work, you also bear them for everyone to see and criticise. No
author should expect anything less, and there will always be fans and
critics of all literary works.
