Freedom to be an Archon's lapdog

I must say, I am amused by the picture you paint of Ashtani politics.
The irony that, in a city of "Freedom," publicly disagreeing with your
elected officials is a crime, could not have escaped you as you wrote
your retort to Nobi. You say that the venerable Overseer feels more
obligated to serving the needs of the Archons, rather than the citizens
of Ashtan? What if the Archons start abusing their powers? They can
count on the support of the Overseer, and they can just label those who
would bring their corruption to the light as "traitors." And, if I
understand Nobi, this is just what has happened. The oligarthy of Ashtan
has become just as hypocritical, if not moreso, as the Church.
