Far away

Far away in Khigatin
the people sometimes say,
life is often bitter
and all to seldom gay.
Bitter as Dragon's tears,
great cascades of sorrow
flood down all the years,
drowning our tomorrows.

Far away in Khigatin
the people also say,
Life is sometimesjoyous
if all too often gay.
Although life is seasoned
with bitter Dragon tears,
seasoning is but a spice
within our brew of years.
Bad times are only rice,
tears are one more flavor,
that gives us sustenance,
something we can savor.

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Valnuary, in the year 281 AF.
