Echoes of Power

You speak of sacrifice,
But do you know its true cost?
Evil's strength remains,
While others drift, long lost.

Laughter fades with time,
As will the fleeting cheer -
But in our veins runs power,
Driven by your fear.

Empires rise, then fall,
But we stand beyond their reach -
The Truths we hold sustain us,
While empty boasts may preach.

No bitterness to be felt,
For such things do not land -
Though your past words linger, still,
They're not as cutting as you planned.

Kindest regards, to those
Whose claims have all been brought -
For in the end, we prosper,
And your fate is left to rot.

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Ero, in the year 966 AF.
