Just Cause

(Best accompanied by some simple strumming on citole or mandolin. Best paired with a rowdy audience well into their cups.)

Oh, Nefarious Nick, had a nasty ol' trick,
That he'd utilize when he was up the crick.
He'd hit you some, then hightail it away,
Counting on guards to keep you at bay.

He'd count down some time and come back again,
Crowing to all 'bout how you can't win.
Let me stop you there Nick, why don't you take a pause,
Cuz I'm gonna hit you with my Just Cause.

Just Cause, Just Cause,
"Why'd you do that to me?" Just Cause.
Go hire a mark, or appeal to the gods,
I for one have a Just Cause.

Just Cause, Just Cause,
"That's against the rules!" Just Cause.
I fight for faith, while you play the odds,
I for one have a Just Cause.

Innocent Ines, could hardly aggress,
But had been decked out by her city's largess.
Weighed down by wares from the artefact shop,
Her city'd call 'Fighters!' and off she'd hop.

The moment then'd pass, now she's in a bind,
No one prepared her to be left behind.
Well sorry Ines, for your leadership's flaws,
But I'm here on a Just Cause.

Litigious Lem, was brimming with vim,
Vigorously learned laws literatim.
"Um, actually!" he'd blurt in every discourse,
Ne'er slowin' down til his voice grew hoarse.

Linguistic combat translated poorly to swords,
'fraid this fight ain't on the public news boards.
I hear you Lem, you know all the laws!
Now have a debate with my Just Cause.

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Glacian, in the year 956 AF.
