Bloodsucker

I should have known what you were
From the moment you bit me
Sank your teeth into my neck
as I bled for you gladly

Now I watch as you leave me
On a path that is paved by
The people that you have drained
And cast off to the wayside

I just wonder what it's like
To only pretend to feel
I doubt I'll ever get it
Gods, I hope I never will

Like a wolf stalking its kill
You chased after sweeter flesh
Since I figured out your lies
You desired something fresh

After all, I knew you best
and dear, that made me stale
You craved the rose-clad stranger
over my familiar hail

And now you've another slave
to mould to your heart's desire
A liar and cheat like you;
like you, another vampire

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Mayan, in the year 953 AF.
