Bardic Saga

In days of yore, the bards roamed far and wide,
Gathering tales of valor, love, and woe,
Their hearts and minds with ancient wisdom tied,
Their stories spun like threads in endless flow.

But in a sacrifice of great accord,
The bards relinquished all they had amassed,
Their stories lost, their voices struck and floored,
The price they paid for stories sacrificed past

With consent of gods, they gained sagas bold,
Each verse a flame, each stanza a bright spark,
Their tongues ablaze with epics yet untold,
From realms abroud, they drew from depths so dark.

Though lost their stories, in sacrifice dire,
The bards now wield anew a saga's fire.

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Miraman, in the year 949 AF.
