Words are not just words
They are meaningless symbols
Scattered to the void
And empty in their genesis

And yet

They are the gravity of all meaning
Beacons of a shared consciousness
That wills us together
Even as we forever exist apart

No person can ever understand another
For we are singular in our being
And yet we do it all the same
In the shared nothingness of meaning

In the loneliness of being together
And the togetherness of being apart
