As a child I thought as children do
Full joy, full of hope, fully naive
I was full of youthful certainty

From childhood's warm embrace
Flames burned through naive haze
A world for me to face

Joy still guided my every step
Believing all would soon be well
Mirthful and light my place to dwell

Years passed and horrors now seen
A painful state of being
Sacrifice some believing

Gone now the youthful countenance
Of one who lived life as a dance
Leaving behind anew stern stance

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Aeguary, in the year 927 AF.
