Hunting with Dragons

Never was I one to sleep through the night.
Rather, I was the one to collapse in a heap,
And awaken at noon with a terrible fright.

So therefore I might wonder,
With all of my might,
If all was just dreamt, while a trance I was under.

Dream or not,
The dragons seemed real,
Accompanied by smells of brimstone and thunder.

The smell kept me up,
While I slept on the trail-
I knew they were there,
Though my hearing did fail.

We parted ways back in town,
Parted ways with a smile,
Experience is worth so much more than a crown.

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Daedalan, in the year 927 AF.
