Here's to laughter

Play to the muse, that harbinger of fire,
Fingers in your soul as she seeks to inspire,
Exhorting you to take up your inked quill
Resist though you might, still serve her you will.

Tell all the world just how it feels to fly
Then plummet with wings melting, out from the sky!
Laugh all the way as you behold the ground
Approaching so swiftly, your catharsis found!

So here's to mania! Here's to laughter!
Give yourself over! Don't mind what comes after!
Embrace the sun as it sears out your brain!
Then fall to pieces. Start over again!

Pray to your god, though it avails you not.
Doubt every action, don't trust your own thoughts
For the mood is upon you, and you are its slave
Try as you might, you can't seem to behave!

Cackle as it sweeps you along its path
Make them give way lest they feel your full wrath!
You are beholden, your fetters revealed
Bound as you are your desires are unsealed!

So here's to mania! Here's to laughter!
Give yourself over! Don't mind what comes after!
Embrace the sun as it sears out your brain!
Then fall to pieces. Start over again!
