Sonnet for Lord Scarlatti

Though You slept for many years,
Your Realm called deeply to my soul.
Your absence ever taking its toll,
As emotions turned to works from tears,
I felt I owed You more in arrears.
But whence You returned to us in whole,
Embracing me daughter and into the fold,
It felt right to be Yours among my peers.
Now hear this pledge dear Father o'mine,
And ever remember Your children's ardour,
For without You we'd certainly pine,
Our Art a shadow of so much more.
Through Your Love we truly shine,
Always Scarlattan at our core.

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Scarlatan, in the year 606 AF.
