The Heart is My Weapon, And I have Grown With It

I am a traitor,
a wanderer,
a lie,
in your eyes,
I am not worthy of words.
In your eyes,
I am not worthy of time.
But it is a fake.

Madness you view,
but a mask I do wear,
the norm so dull, so trite,
I wish to feel life.
Will you see me,
as naught but a curse?
Will you stop,
and realize the farce?

I am proud of my heart,
I take no pleasure in pain,
and yet I am not
remorseful of my path.
My mind is my weapon,
my heart is my gold,
I quench fires of hate
with a torrent of love.

Parting was sour,
but no ill will do I bear,
your strength I do notice,
your mind I respect.
Walk in peace, milady
I shall leave you to it,
I only ask,
that you do the same.

I will walk this long path,
with my heart as my guide,
as long as I draw breath,
I will never lose sight.
For I have grown in my heart,
and in the end I will smile,
when my life is at an end,
and my heart beats no more.
