Awakening

Upon a hazy, distant shore
I settled down to rest

Pondering the happenings
of a newly finished quest.

And while I sat and looked around
my mind began to slip

With heavy eyes, in sleep's embrace
I had lost my grip.

I slept away and dreamt the dreams
of long forgotten lore

While sands did sweep and rush around
upon that distant shore.

Though captivation held me bound
within its reverie

The dream did shift to nightmare's realm
despite my strongest plea.

Escaping seemed my only choice
if I were still to rise

My life, my home, the mountain range
now seen through refreshed eyes.

Upon a hazy, distant shore
covered by the sand

The fears, the angst of one forever
buried by my hand.

Penned by my hand on the 15th of Ero, in the year 596 AF.
