Cold's Caress

Winter fell and froze my heart
with protest and dismay

A wild and wonderous creature sought
haunts me to this day.

To sit, to think of times gone by
stirs warmth into my soul

While wild and wonderous winter cares
of wiles and their toll.

Those times gone by, of friends and fun,
weigh heavy in this war

Wild winter thrashes, its icy crashes
left weakened to the core.

A bold and brilliant beam did scour,
encasing all in sight

Surrounding all within my care
apart from winter's plight.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Sarapin, in the year 586 AF.
