Star-Crossed Lovers

He loves her from a distance,
Always watching, never touching.
Wishing to be near her,
In his moments of heartache.
She flits about unhappily
Feeling unfulfilled bye something;
The love he can only give her,
That she wishes she could take.

They live two seperate lives;
They wish to make them one,
But they cannot for the trials
And the vows they'd have to break.
They each have obligations;
They need to finish what they've begun.
But late at night they think
About the life they wish to make.

He longs to see her wake up
In his arms at break of day.
Her body warm beside his
And her arm across his chest.
A morning without sorrow
Where she could wake and stay
In his presence where they could
Laugh and love and forget all the rest.

She longs for days and nighttimes,
Picnics at the park.
To see him with their children,
Smiling down at them, in joy.
She thinks of him all day long,
But mostly in the dark.
As she lays next to a stranger
Who cannot fill that void.

Two lovers wishing to be together,
Knowing they cannot.
Wandering, lonely, on the
Path they are forced to take.
Thinking of eachother,
Adding to the plot,
Of the times they are together...
In their dreams before they wake.
