It began as a humble theory, proposed by the scholars of Hashan, pondered by alchemists, and trialled through experimentation. But at last, nine hundred and twenty-four years after the fall of the Seleucarian Empire, a discovery was made.

Utilising chemical knowledge derived from the labs of the Dicondron Academy alongside the schools of Manipulation and Substantiation, the studious citizens of Hashan uncovered a method to restrain an incorporeal entity of soulbleed. Determined and ever-seeking Progress, the Court of Shadows got to work. The exact details of the breakthrough were not shared beyond the archives of the Academy. But what was known was the project's power source: the enigmatic Wellspring.

Descending into starlight, the trained alchemists of the Court gathered on the 19th of Scarlatan 924 AF and began their experiment. Shadows melted to naught as a blinding radiance bled out of the Sunderlands, and at least one researcher died to physicality-warping oddities of flesh and blood. At last, the searing glow faded, darkness returned to Hashan, and loud cheering rang out across Sapience.

The Wardstone Project was a success.
