Because the magics involved to raise lost city of Kasmarkin were not
enough to keep it afloat indefinitely, it sank back down into the murky
depths of the Mannaseh swamp. However, with the occult knowledge gained
previously, Demiurge Shakti Devi again raised the swamp and this time
uncovered and released the occult power locked within Kasmarkin.
Unfortunately, even with the help of other occult advisers, she could
not decipher the secret to control the power before Kasmarkin sunk again
into the swamp.
Finally, the Demiurge raised the Kasmarkin yet a third time. And this
time she was successful. She could control the power within Kasmarkin!
During the days that followed, reports circulated of a huge winged
creature with deadly fangs and arcane powers mysteriously appearing and
slaying the enemies of the Demiurge. Shakti Devi paid a price, however,
for it was seen that she died just as mysteriously as her enemies to
this strange creature.
But then, something quite unexpected occurred. From Kasmarkin came the
chanting of trolls, trolls who were long since dead. A guttural scream
echoed throughout the land, raging against being imprisoned yet again.
And so the ancient power was again bound within Kasmarkin as it sank
back into the swamps.
Will anyone again dare to raise Kasmarkin and attempt to control this
ancient power? Or will intrepid souls try to bind the power more tightly
beneath the fallen city as was done before? And a deeper question: did
Eris, Goddess of Chaos, travel to the past for a purpose yet uncovered?
Perhaps only the passing of time will reveal the secrets hidden within
itself.
