One day in early Miraman of 418 A.F., the cries of a befuddled ghost in
the Black Forest led adventurers on an exploration of the gloomy
woodland. The first to find the ghost, as well as a previously
undiscovered hidden section of the Forest, was Jalet I'sasome.
Sympathising with the distressed incorporeal being, Jalet, along with
his fellow Hashani Ixin, Atrum and Amranu, offered their help. They were
able to determine amidst his confusion that he had died long ago in the
forest and had spent many years wandering in search of his bones.
After a thorough search, Jalet retrieved one of the ghost's bones from a
hidden den of vipers in the heart of the forest. Part of the ghost's
memory seemed to return to him, and he begged the adventurers to lead
him home. With the help of reknowned explorer Delphinus, who recalled
the nearby ruins of an old cottage, the entourage was able to lead the
ghost back home where his soul could be at peace.
Mid-month in the same Miraman, a wounded hunter crawled his way to the
ever-busy intersection North of New Thera. The hunter, named Garian,
recounted the tale of how he had been hunting game in the woods off the
Prelatorian Highway when he had been attacked by a pack of strangely
mutated foxes and bears. A group, led by an Ashuran monk named Bleak,
set out to find and slay these creatures. When Garian led them to the
rough spot he had entered the woods, however, they were confronted by an
impenetrable wall of trees, and the wounded hunter could not recall how
he had come to pass through them before. Swishowski Smith put forth the
idea of enlisting the aide of the Theran woodcutter, Enfrin, to clear a
path.
The party made for the ramshackle hut of Enfrin and enlisted his aid.
With the path cleared by Enfrin's axe, a pathway that wound around the
circumference of the foul-smelling Green Lake was revealed. While other
hunters set out in search of the mutated beasts of which he had spoken,
Garian retired to the common room of the Crystal Leaf Inn.
All in all, Miraman was a good month for explorers!
