We've had a few reports of disappearing gold. We're trying to find the
problem, but it could be caused by so many things that it's very
difficult to pin it down. Generally speaking, we do not reimburse gold,
because there is no way for us to know whether you lost it, whether it
was a bug, or even, in a few unfortunate cases, whether a person is
lying to us to get some free gold.

I -highly- recommend keeping large amounts of gold in the banks, which
is what they are there for. Gold is very unlikely to disappear from bank
accounts.
