I am pleased to announce the works that have been selected this month
from among the many entries submitted to the Fellowship. As a note to
submitters, please read HELP CONTESTS and send us graphic and written
work only in the formats we ask for. When you do not, it slows down the
judging process significantly. Thank you, and on to the results...

For the Bardic Contest:
-First Place-
"When Theyre Gone," the strange tale of why Delos' streets do not teem
with the rat population of other cities, as told by Flick.

-Runners Up-
"Paths, Chapter 1," Seren's immersive beginning to the story of an
assassin whose job has gone awry.
"Journal Exerpt," in which Morgan shares the first clues of origin
gleaned from journals dating from Cyrene's earliest days.

-Merit Awards-
"Ignis Inferni," a poem by Trill that tells the tale of the frightful
days spent battling the great wilderness blaze of 292 AF.
"The Act of Morphing," a scholarly paper in which Belexus presents his
theories about the basis of the Druid and Sentinel skill of morphing.
"A Lizard's Love of Reincarnation," Oxayotl's explaination of his choice
between heritage and a new horizon.

For the Artisanal Contest:
-First Place-
"The Misadventures of a Rajamalan," a hilarious illustration of five of
the worst places to find that a wormhole leads, by Xagis.

-Runners Up-
"The Ashura Monk," a battle scene between the title character and his
unfortunate opponent, by Zander
"The Druid's Grove," Kyra's depiction of the Druid in his element.
"Sisters," a painting by Emty, portaying a scene between herself and her
sister Kyra.
"Self Portrait," Septerra's latest artistic offering.
"Betwixt," an underwater landscape in lovely watercolours, by Elsp.

-Merit Awards-
"The Arena," in which another falls in the realm's most popular sport,
illustrated by Zeto.
"Evil," Yarlen's scene of a soul for whom the forces of Good have
arrived too late.
"Treesnake," the most recent illustration created with serpent pride by
Serentus.
"Self Portrait," Rikta's vibrant illustration of herself in
contemplation.

These works will be on display on the Web site soon. Questions regarding
the contests may be sent directly to bards@achaea.com or
artists@achaea.com. As a note to writers, please again consider
carefully whether the story you submit as part of a larger work is also
a stand-alone piece or not. Submitting long works in several parts is
accepted, but your are not nearly as likely to be awarded if your
individual pieces do not work on their own as well.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Phaestian, in the year 293 AF.
