novices

Due to some helpful feedback, what I'm going to do is create a special
guild position in guilds to handle novices. This person will be able to
appoint aides.

Then, I'm going to take GT access away from novices, and create a second
guild channel. Some guilds already do this. For instance, the Sentinels
have a 'Cub' channel (they use a clan for it) for their Cubs. What we'll
do now is formalize it. (we'll call it, by default 'novice' but guilds
that want it changed to something like cubs (which is really excellent)
can have it changed.

As guild members can turn off the novice channel if they wish, the
novices should then have no more affect on normal guild members than
they did before, aside from expanding your gwho and gmem lists.

Incidentally, I suspect it's no coincidence that the Sentinels are one
of the biggest guilds in the land. Things like the way they already have
a 'Cub' channel, and a Cub headmistress, and so on, are great (I know
other guilds do things like this, I just think the Sentinels currently
handle this sort of thing the best.)

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Sarapin, in the year 281 AF.
