First, as I said, I'll be gone for about 10 days, on vacation and then at a games conference. During this time, I'll be answering e-mail and messages sporadically at best.
And in that vein, I have an announcement to make, that is fairly important:
Well, the time has finally come where it's no longer possible for me to be one of the main customer service contacts. I knew that once Achaea got to a certain size, the amount of communication I get was going to become overwhelming, and it's gotten to that stage. Three weeks ago we'd only had 160 players on at once twice, ever. In the last two weeks, we've held above 160 every single day for long periods. I simply get too many messages and too much e-mail. Luckily, we have fantastic Gods, and they have encouraged me to let them take care of as much of that as possible, so that I can concentrate on developing new systems and generally managing the growth and improvement of Achaea.
Thus, I'm going to have to ask that people cease messaging me or e-mailing me unless it involves credits. You can use issues in the game (HELP ISSUES) or you can send an e-mail to support@achaea.com. Doing this will allow the other Gods to take some of the workload off my shoulders (as the amount of communication I get is quite crushing sometimes) thus freeing me up to be as productive as possible.
So please, I ask for your cooperation in this. Don't message me about someone having killed you, or about whether we are going to be adding <x> feature. You need to either talk to other Gods, who will act as my collective filter, file an issue (again, answered by the Gods), or e-mail support@achaea.com (once again, answered by the Gods).
I know some of you will probably not be happy that I'm removing myself from talking to you, but it's simply the only realistic decision. I'm one of the only coders and the most experienced designer. I need to be doing that to be most effective.
So, once again, please start using either ISSUE or support@achaea.com, or simply talking to another God if you've got an idea and getting that God to sponsor it rather than contacting me directly.
Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Aeguary, in the year 272 AF.
