Seafaring baby steps

Many smaller but needful advances have been made in
Seafaring of late. Here are a few, pretty much
all described somewhere in HELP 23, especially,
for the most recent, in HELP 23.10 and 23.11.
MAPS now exist and can be placed in special shipboard
containers called Cartographer's Desks. When there,
they can be used for finding your way around.
The proper ability will allow you to SCRIBE maps,
if you can find blanks (not currently for sale,
but soon!)
In the absence of a ship's captain, passengers
and other crew get justifiably nervous about ever
seeing land again. To aid those in such situations,
we have scoured the world 'round for the proper
power to assist, and found that Charybdis will
(at substantial cost) provide aid and succour
to those truly in emergencies.
Seek out a Token of Charybdis, make sure that it
has been etched with the identifying marks of
a known port (currently only Tasur'ke), and then
have it along when you go sailing. If the captain
is absent and you fear for your life or safety,
you may SHIP RESCUE ME, and then hold still a
really long time! If you succeed in that, and
you haven't been rescued too recently, and
you have nearly all of your endurance and willpower,
then you will be returned to the port etched on
the token, and lose most of both your end and will.
Better than dying alone on that captainless ship, eh?
Penned by my hand on the 16th of Glacian, in the year 475 AF.
