Prestidigitators, circumlocutionists, and other wielders of arcanery:
rejoice! Today is unveiled a development unprecedented in the annals
of alii. Which is to say aliases. Which is another way to say 'other
ways to say things.' One way or another.
Formerly, poor prestidigitators (presto - fast; digit - finger; you
work out the rest) and clumsy circumlocutionists (unnecessarily wordy
or roundabout in expression) were bound by the limits of aliases to
undertaking horrors of this form:
SETALIAS EVSA ENVENOM SWORD WITH ACONITE
SETALIAS EVSC ENVENOM SWORD WITH CURARE
(and so forth)
Now, imagine the joys unfolding through this new way which permits:
SETALIAS EVS ENVENOM SWORD WITH
And, in use, EVS ACONITE, or EVS CURARE
Yes, yes, and yes. They work. They do. Those arcane aliaslike formulae
do now work and shall continue to do so.
All praise to himself who accomplished this feat - magnum moneybags
Prospero in person!
- summary: aliases now take advantage of the rest of the command line.
so (refer to example above) you can do something like EVS ACONITE and
the 'ACONITE' will be passed along after the EVS. EVS will be
translated to ENVENOM SWORD WITH, and then the entire command will be
ENVENOM SWORD WITH ACONITE, or whatever it is you choose to type
thereafter. Praise to Prospero!
