The concept of supply and demand addresses the tendancy for
goods to assume thier own price due to an equillibrium between
said supply and demand. Price-fixxing, on the other hand is
a tactic used to raise the price of goods by forming an
alliance that agrees to restrict the supply of said goods in an
effort to drive up the prices, thus circumventing the natural
balance of supply and demand. And so you can see, these two concepts
are mutually exclusive. Price-fixxing destroys the balance set by
supply and demand. And supply and demand can only exist in the
absence of price-fixxing.
