Greetings Sapience

This being my first attempt at voicing my concerns on this public forum of ours, I ask that you have patience with me as I have many points to make. Recently I left the glorious city of Ashtan to take up residence in Hashan. I have many personal reasons for doing such, but suffice it to say that I felt that certain prominent members of government in Ashtan did not appear to have my best interest in mind.

This being said, allow me to give you all a little insight into a recent event that I was fortunate enough to take part in. It was the trial of my own guildmaster, by his former city, the city of Ashtan. What was the crime he was charged with? Breaking an edict of the city of Ashtan, by attacking a fellow citizen, in defense of a non citizen.

During this trial there were several oddities that I found to blatantly obvious to overlook, and I am hoping that someone will be willing to shed some light on them for me. You see, perhaps it is my age and lack of experience in the realms that leads me to believe this, but I was under the impression that a trial by your peers was supposed to be something that dealt out justice.

In Raajin's case, I find myself questioning whether or not justice was dealth. You see, I was a member of the jury during this trial, and prior to my departure from the realms for otherworldy reasons that I could not avoid, a preliminary vote had been cast, finding Raajin innocent by a vote of 3-2-2. In speaking with a few of my fellow jurors, I have been informed that there may have been 2 votes following the preliminary, one in which Raajin was again found innocent by a vote of 4-3, and a third in which after much pressuring from individuals who resided over the trial, but were not supposed to have any direct influence on the jurors, pressured for another vote, in which Raajin was finally found guilty.

Along with this, I also found the representation in the jury to be rather interesting as well. Most every individual who sat on the jury in this trial, held very vested interest in the outcome of it. Be it that they were related to either the prosecutor or the defendent, or if they were guildmates or ordermates or relatives. There was even a member of the jury who stood as a witness during the trial.

Now mind you, all of this information that I have presented is heresay, and my goal in presenting it is in hopes of finding some answers to the truth of these allegations, and to determine once and for all if Ashtan is a city that can treat their accused citizens with the justice that they deserve. If the information that I have been given is in err, I would like to ask anyone who feels the need, to please contact me and set me straight on this matter. I for one would like to know, because in my heart of hearts, I know that Ashtan is a city with great potential, and I would like to think that this landmark trial in the history of Sapience was dealt with in a fair manner.

Thank you for your time in this matter
