Aylara,
Perhaps it could be termed favouritism.
But perhaps also it could be that Drazik knows Gunthar well, knows he will be of great value to the Guild. Perhaps Gunthar's decision to change guilds when he was GM was because he decided he didnt like being GM, that it wasnt what he thought it would be (in which case he did his guild a service by leaving). There are many reasons why Gunthar may have switched guilds, and not all of them are traitorous. Hence not nessessarily a reason to refuse him admittance to the Guild. And being his friend, Drazik would know him, his reasons, and would trust he spoke the truth.
What is wrong with that?
I spose it could be as you say, but... I doubt it
