Can We Survive

As dusk falls, the sky hums,
Birds whistle, the earth sings along.
A beautiful city by the ocean's side,
Holding secrets before our eyes.

A great gate, like a paradise,
Stands tall, just like a king.
Closing the city for a moment,
Its cloak of grandeur silences all.

Bad luck draws ever near,
Good fortune fades, slowly erased.
Evil fate is ready to strike,
Can we hold on, can we survive?

Ancient verses, truths untold,
What is the purpose of life, awaiting its answer?
But is that truly the way?
Must we choose this path ahead?

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Aeguary, in the year 965 AF.
